Summer 2007 Incentive Program

We who are involved in the Union for Reform Judaism camping system are delighted to announce a new grant program that makes Reform Jewish camping a potential reality for all children. The grants are made possible and are funded by the URJ camping system and a generous grant from the Foundation for Jewish Camping. Our camps have always provided a superior camping experience for families who are committed to instilling Reform Jewish values, identity and pride in their children through the fun and excitement of sleep-away camping.

In order to do this, we are providing a $1,200 grant to every first-time overnight junior camper who enrolls in a three-week or longer session after April 1, 2007. These are not financial, need-based grants.

The mission of the grant program is to significantly increase the number of Jewish children attending Reform Jewish camps. Please download our grant application packet which includes guidelines, instructions and an application for the Camp Harlam Incentive Grants. If you have any questions, please contact the Camp Harlam office at (215) 563-8184 or e-mail campharlam@urj.org.

URJ camps make a world of difference. And you can make a difference in the world by sending a child to Camp Harlam.

Wishing you joy and blessings during this Passover season,

Rabbi Dan Freelander - Vice President, Union for Reform Judaism
Gail Litman - Chair, North American Camping
Paul Reichenbach - Director of Camping and Israel Programs, Union for Reform Judaism
Rabbi Frank Dewoskin - Director, URJ Camp Harlam
